I've spent ten years solving problems and writing down the answers

Most of that has been spent building companies — sitting with a problem long enough to understand it, then shipping something that holds. I taught myself to write software so nobody could tell me a thing was impossible, and I've been an autodidact ever since.

The rest of it has been spent in Scripture. I study, I teach, I preach, and I've found the two disciplines borrow from each other more than anyone expects. Both are about reading carefully, arguing honestly, and being willing to be wrong in public.

I work from Berlin. The companies are financial software, mostly — the kind where a rounding error is somebody's rent, and where the regulation is not an obstacle to route around but the shape of the problem itself.

The writing runs in two streams. Theology is doctrine, teaching and apologetics: what the text says, what the church has understood it to say, and how to answer the objections honestly rather than conveniently. Companies is product, fintech and the mechanics of building alone — what worked, what cost me a year, and what I would tell myself at the start.

They are kept apart on the page and not in practice. Ten years of building taught me to hold a position loosely and test it hard, and that is the same instinct I bring to a passage. One person, one voice, two doors.
